Akhmad Kadyrov Nearly Assassinated by Bomb Blast

Today in the village of liskhan-Yurt, a village about 20 miles east of Grozny, Chechen Rebels attempted to assassinate Akhmad Kadyrov with a bomb attack. Kadyrov was not hurt but 4 of his bodyguards were killed in the blast. The attack came in the form of suicide bombers carried out by two female perpetrators hiding the explosives on their persons. At least 15 people were killed including the attackers and more than 150 were injured.

Kadyrov was attending a religious festival honoring the birth of the Prophet Muhammad with thousands of fellow Muslims.  A woman said she wanted to speak to Kadyrov because her sons had disappeared. When she was stopped, she detonated the explosives hidden on her person. Another a second bomb did not explode and was detonated by authorities afterword.
